Tree Planted for Retiring Castle Hills Principal

2012 April 30

The weather was perfect Friday, April 27, for a tree planting at Castle Hills Elementary (Castle Hills) to honor retiring principal Venita Blake.

She has been with the school for ten years and this is the tenth year a tree has been planted for Arbor Day.

This year, a desert willow was planted. The trees are part of a walking garden around the school.  Every tree is labeled for identification.

“What a lovely honor as I retire from LISD. Castle Hills will always hold a special place in my heart and I’m grateful to the community for this tree,” Blake said.

The tree is sponsored by Castle Hills Elementary PTA & Green Meadows Landscaping.
